The Clean Label Project study found heavy metals in most popular cat foods. Scientists tested products from 62 brands, including Royal Canin, Purina and Hill's.

Lead was detected in 99 out of 100 samples, cadmium in 96%, arsenic in 94%. In fish-based and seafood-based cat foods, mercury concentration was 18 times higher than in other types of products.

The study results make pet owners think about the safety of their pets' diet.
