Microsoft launches second voluntary resignation program

Microsoft Launches Second Voluntary Resignation Program

Microsoft has launched a voluntary resignation program, offering employees the option to leave with compensation. The offer has been sent to 60,000 workers in the US, Canada, India, and the UK.

The program is time-limited. Employees leaving are promised financial support and career planning assistance. Terms will be sent to each candidate individually.

Company HR Director Amy Coleman described this as part of a new approach to change, ensuring greater flexibility and allowing employees to define their next professional stage themselves.

This is the second such initiative in half a year. In April, Microsoft first launched a voluntary retirement program available to approximately 7% of its US employees.

The company is actively investing in artificial intelligence development, leading to reduced demand for human resources in traditional roles.
