Hyperscale Data Sold Bitcoins to Build AI Center

American company Hyperscale Data sold about 685 bitcoins for $43 million to complete the construction of an artificial intelligence data center in Michigan and pay off part of its debt.

The sale amounted to almost three-quarters of the company's total reserves. Before the deal, the corporation held more than 1,000 coins; now only about 275 BTC remain in the treasury.

Investors reacted negatively to the management's decision: the company's shares plummeted by 16% in a single day following the announcement of the asset sale.

Hyperscale Data management insists that bitcoin remains an important part of its strategy. The company plans to replenish its reserves through mining when market conditions allow.
