Claude Code Desktop Update: Parallel Task Support
Anthropic has released an updated version of its Claude Code desktop application, significantly enhancing functionality for parallel work on multiple tasks.
The revamped launch screen and sidebar now clearly display the status of active tasks, completed sessions, and areas requiring user input.
Nested Sessions
When multiple tasks are requested simultaneously, Claude creates a separate session for each. Results from all parallel processes are returned to the main conversation, simplifying progress tracking.
Next Action Suggestions
During operation, the model suggests additional tasks. Users can launch them in a separate session with a single click, accelerating development and analysis workflows.
Side Questions
The /btw command allows opening additional questions in separate tabs. The main session continues running without interruption, supporting multitasking.
Saved Environments
Developers can save sets of folders, SSH connections, or cloud environments for reuse. Each folder supports creating a dedicated Git worktree, facilitating code version management.
Visual Progress
Inside a session, the task list dynamically updates according to Claude's plan. When user intervention is needed, a card appears with a brief summary. A separate panel displays the current runtime environment, context, and applied changes.
