Bitcoin Surpasses $81,000 Amid Fed Remarks
Bitcoin surpassed the $81,000 mark, gaining approximately 4% over the past day. The rise occurred amid shifting market expectations regarding U.S. monetary policy.
The market’s move came after a statement by Christopher Waller, a member of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. He expressed willingness to support keeping interest rates steady, provided inflation continues its downward trend.
Traders quickly revised their forecasts: the probability of a rate hike in September dropped from 63% to a 50-50 split. This shift in expectations became the key driver for the asset’s recovery.
Amid the broader rally, Zcash stands out as the market leader. It surged 15% in a day and 20% over the week, significantly outperforming other assets in its segment.
Institutional interest in Bitcoin remains volatile. On Thursday, U.S. spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) attracted around $277 million, though the previous four sessions saw mixed inflows and outflows.
Analysts note the absence of a consistent investment flow that would clearly confirm strong demand from major institutional investors at this stage.
