Vape Sales Banned in Tomsk Region
Deputies in the Tomsk Region unanimously passed a law banning the sale of electronic cigarettes and vapes within the region. This decision is part of a broader trend to tighten control over the circulation of nicotine-containing products in Russia.
The bill was considered and approved in two readings, indicating full consensus among lawmakers. Deputies support measures aimed at reducing smoking popularity among youth and protecting public health.
The new ban will make the ninth region in the country to implement a complete sales block on vapes. Similar decisions have previously been adopted in other Russian subjects, forming a unified vector of state policy in this area.
The law enters into force on March 1, 2027. This timeframe allows businesses to adapt and prepare infrastructure for new operating conditions.
The Tomsk Region has joined the nationwide movement to restrict the vape market. It is expected that other regions will follow suit soon, leading to a complete ban on the sale of such devices across the entire country.
