Spotify to Launch AI Remix Service in 2027
Streaming service Spotify plans to launch a new feature allowing users to create AI remixes of music tracks. The project may start in early 2027.
The service allows subscribers to generate their own versions of songs. Users can transform genres, for example turning folk into dance compositions, or use one artist's voice to perform another musician's track.
Access to the tool will cost around $5 per month. Currently, platform representatives are negotiating content licensing with major labels Sony and Warner Music Group.
A key condition for the project is revenue distribution. All funds generated from the use of creative works will be directed to the performers of the original pieces.
- Revenues from AI remixes go to artists
- Streams count towards original charts
- Licenses are coordinated with Sony and Warner
