New Hair Loss Pill Shows Hair Growth in Trials
Scientists have developed an innovative VDPHL01 drug from Veradermics, a pill for treating hair loss. Unlike traditional remedies, the medication contains minoxidil in a sustained-release form.
Results from the third phase of clinical trials demonstrated high efficacy of the new therapy. The study involved 536 men who took the drug for six months.
Average hair growth was approximately 30–33 units per square centimeter of scalp skin. This is a significant improvement compared to results from existing treatment methods.
The drug uses the proven component minoxidil, but its new form provides more stable impact on the patient's body.
Now the development must undergo further regulatory stages and obtain FDA approval.
After receiving official permission, the drug will be able to become an accessible means for fighting androgenetic alopecia in men.
