Russia to Simplify Rules for Importing Foreign Electronics
Russia is developing measures to simplify the import of foreign electronics. A working group of the government's subcommission on artificial intelligence is working on removing restrictions on parallel imports.
Simplification of rules may affect brands such as Samsung and Intel. This will make foreign equipment and components more affordable for consumers.
The initiative is linked to a shortage of graphics accelerators in the domestic market. Previously, restrictions were introduced to support domestic manufacturers; however, Russian assemblers need foreign components.
It is expected that new measures will allow prices for electronic equipment to be reduced. Experts note that this will help eliminate the shortage of important components for local production.
