Crypto Hacks: 230 Attacks on Projects with Losses Exceeding $50k
Since the beginning of 2026, hackers have attacked more than 200 crypto projects, each suffering losses exceeding $50,000.
A post by crypto marketer Stacy Muir has gained popularity on social media, presenting a list of projects that suffered hacking incidents with damages exceeding $50,000.
As of late October, the number of such incidents reached 230 cases.
Among the most significant losses is the hack of the Bitget exchange, with damages totaling $387 million.
- Liquid Network — $320 million
- Tectonic — $124 million
- Mass theft from Coldcard devices — $116 million
Stacy Muir stated that security in the crypto industry is in a critical state and "absolutely broken."
Most incidents affected small and medium-sized projects, but the largest financial losses were mostly borne by bridges and lending protocols.
These sectors were at the peak of market attention in 2024–2025.
