Free ChatGPT Pro for Open Source Developers

OpenAI has launched the Codex for Open Source program, providing developers of open-source projects with free access to the ChatGPT Pro service for up to six months. The initiative aims to support public repositories with open-source code.

Participation in the program is available regardless of project popularity. The absence of a minimum GitHub Stars requirement and the ability for individual developers to participate make the offer inclusive for a wide range of authors.

Key program conditions include:

• Six months of free access to ChatGPT Pro subscription
• No GitHub Stars requirements
• Eligibility for individual developers
• Additional API credits and code security analysis tools

Application approval depends on the company's assessment of the project's significance, not just its social activity. Applications are accepted via the official link on the OpenAI website.
