Neuroanimation: How Alexander Erokhin Created the Film ASCENT

The short animated film ASCENT was created by director Alexander Erokhin. The project explores the theme of losing one's main life compass and human resilience in pursuing a goal despite mortal risk.

Film production relied on a comprehensive use of neural networks and specialized tools. Codex models with GPT-5-6 Sol and GPT-6 Astra were used for scene breakdowns, prompt preparation, and task organization.

Visual content generation was carried out using GPT-2 and Nano Banana Pro, while video creation utilized Seedance 2.5 and Wan 3.0 models. All work with generations was conducted within the HX platform via the MCP protocol.

  • GPT-5-6 Sol and GPT-6 Astra for scriptwriting and task management
  • GPT-2 and Nano Banana Pro for images
  • Seedance 2.5 and Wan 3.0 for video
  • CapCut for editing and sound mixing

Special attention was given to sound design, which carries the main semantic load alongside the visual narrative. Footstep sounds, button presses, and background effects were synchronized with editing and Abel Korzeniowski's music.

Project development took about a week of free time, with approximate costs ranging from 300 to 400 euros. The director considers this his best work in terms of emotional impact, script, and technical execution.
