Michael Saylor: Yield-Bearing Digital Dollar and the Future
Michael Saylor spoke at the ParaFi Investor Day, outlining key trends in the crypto industry. He emphasized that growth in the tech sector does not always lead to an increase in the value of associated tokens.
The potential of stablecoins, DeFi, and tokenization is huge, but the main profits may go to traditional financial institutions.
Saylor acknowledges the prospects for the development of decentralized finance and derivatives. However, he warns that banks, government agencies, and centralized exchanges, rather than retail crypto holders, may benefit from these technologies.
Bitcoin retains its status as the industry's leading asset.
According to the investor, BTC represents 90% of the economic value of the entire crypto industry. In the current bull market, there has been a rebound from the 200-week moving average, confirming the asset's resilience.
The development of artificial intelligence is diverting about a trillion dollars of investment capital away from the crypto market. Nevertheless, Bitcoin remains a scarce asset capable of withstanding such challenges.
An ideal digital dollar should yield returns.
As the next step in market development, Saylor called for the creation of a digital dollar with a 6–8% yield. Such a stablecoin should maintain a strict peg to the US currency, minimize price volatility, and generate passive income for holders.
The regulatory environment requires flexibility.
The CLARITY bill contains more than 600 pages of restrictions, creating risks for business. Saylor advocates for favorable decisions from the SEC, CFTC, and the US Treasury Department instead of introducing large-scale bans through new laws.
