Meshy Tool Creates 3D Reliefs from Photos
Meshy has launched a tool that generates a 3D relief from a single photo, simplifying model preparation for 3D printing. The feature is available to all platform users.
The generated relief retains a flat back surface. Users can choose between Low Relief mode for shallow protrusions or High Relief mode for more pronounced foreground geometry.
The process involves adjusting depth in the preview before saving the result. This allows you to adapt the model for specific tasks, such as manufacturing nameplates or decorative panels.
Export formats include STL for 3D printing and a 16-bit depth map for engraving. The quality of shape reconstruction depends on the lighting in the photo and the contrast between the object and the background.
A detailed guide on using the tool is published on the official website.
