Locked Chats Feature in ChatGPT

OpenAI is rolling out the Locked Chats feature in ChatGPT to protect user conversation privacy.

Chat Access Protection

The new feature allows users to move selected conversations into a secure space that can only be unlocked with a PIN code. On compatible devices, Face ID or Touch ID authentication is also supported.

It is important to note that this is an access restriction tool, not a high-privacy mode with additional data encryption.

The feature is gradually becoming available to users of all subscription tiers:

Users are advised to keep their PIN codes safe, as losing them may hinder access to saved conversations.
