HTX Bans Access for Russians
Cryptocurrency exchange HTX has officially added the Russian Federation to its list of restricted jurisdictions. The platform's updated terms of service explicitly state that citizens and residents of the Russian Federation are prohibited from using any of the service's offerings.
Mass notification emails have already been sent to Russian users. The platform requires users to withdraw their assets within seven business days, warning of subsequent withdrawal restrictions and complete account bans.
The decision is linked to European Union sanction measures. In July, the EU included HTX in a package of restrictions against Russia, and the ban on transactions for EU citizens and companies entered into force on August 23.
Despite official restrictions, available data suggests that many Russian citizens can still trade on the platform. Previously, other major market players such as MEXC and Bitget took similar steps.
