Google Docs supports Markdown
Google Docs adds Markdown support
Google is introducing native Markdown format support in its Workspace services. The update allows users to create, edit, and collaborate on markup files directly through Google Drive and Google Docs.
The new functionality simplifies the process of transferring content between platforms. Text formatted with bold text and hyperlinks in the Google Docs editor is correctly saved and displayed when copied to other applications, such as messengers.
Developers note that this solution aims to improve efficiency in working with text documents. Users can use familiar markup tools without needing to convert files in third-party services.
More details about the innovations can be found on the official Workspace Updates blog.
