VR Mod for Diablo II: Resurrected
A Reddit enthusiast has unveiled a VR mod for Diablo II: Resurrected, enabling players to immerse themselves in the game via a virtual reality headset from a first-person perspective.
The mod delivers true stereo-3D visuals and maps the character's hands to controllers, while the hero's body syncs with the player's movements.
The interface is projected onto the avatar: the inventory sits on the belt, the map is held in hand, and the skill panel appears on the forearm.
Movement is controlled via a joystick or by walking in place using BodyWalk software, which translates tilts into keyboard or gamepad commands.
The flat game is rendered in the headset using built-in FlatVR technology, with the mod's foundation being emmericp's D2R-3D, which adds first- and third-person camera options.
The author notes that the plugin is nearly release-ready, though a fully playable build does not yet exist.
