Anthropic Released Claude Haiku 5.5 at a Reduced Price

Anthropic has introduced the Claude Haiku 5.5 model, positioned as the most affordable, fastest, and capable small model in its lineup.

The input cost has been reduced to $0.10 per million tokens, and the output cost to $0.50. This is 90% cheaper than the previous version for requests up to 100k tokens.

The new model features adjustable effort levels from Low to Max. It now includes computer and browser control capabilities, along with enhanced cybersecurity filters.

Testing results showed a significant performance improvement compared to its predecessor.

• In the OSWorld task, the model scored 72.4%, compared to 15.7% for Haiku 4.5
• In the Terminal-Bench benchmark, the result was 39.2%, compared to zero
• The model currently trails the larger Sonnet 5.5, which achieved 83.9% and 70.6%

Claude Haiku 5.5 is available via the Claude Platform, AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure.

Anthropic plans to use the model for customer support, data classification, summarization, and powering coding assistant agents.
