Anthropic Introduces Autonomous Agent Claude Duet for Small Businesses
Anthropic has introduced Claude Duet, a standalone product based on the Claude Opus 5.5 model, designed to automate routine tasks and improve small business efficiency.
Key Agent Features
Claude Duet is available as a standalone app for iOS and Android, as well as via the web version at Claude.ai. The agent accesses user memory, skills, and over 6,000 external services, including Gmail, Slack, Shopify, Stripe, and HubSpot.
The agent can independently gather information from connected sources in the morning and generate personalized summaries. Throughout the day, it can flag emerging issues or continue assigned tasks without requiring the computer to remain on, thanks to its own cloud-based browser environment.
Users can assign tasks such as organizing meetings, processing documents, analyzing expenses, or preparing financial forecasts using voice or text commands. It also supports shopping features through Stripe Link and Shop Pay integrations.
Security Limitations
To ensure security, Anthropic has restricted the agent's autonomy. Sending messages, making payments, signing documents, and deleting information require explicit user permission. Stock trading and bank transfers between accounts are prohibited.
Passwords are not shared with the agent, and additional restrictions apply to accessing personal data. This distinguishes the solution from competitors like OpenAI Dots, Meta Muse, and Grok Bot, emphasizing practical use for business tasks.
Technical Features and Availability
Unlike constant monitoring, Claude Duet polls services at intervals of several hours, reducing token consumption. Usage limits are shared with the standard Claude version.
Currently, the product is launched in Research Preview format on a waitlist for Pro and Max subscribers in the United States.
