Yekaterinburg OCG Abducted Men for Deployment to SVO
A major criminal group involved in abducting men to force them into signing contracts for the special military operation has been uncovered in Yekaterinburg. Investigators found that the gang operated systematically, using complex schemes to control its victims.
The criminals identified men in financial distress and provided them with temporary housing. They then pressured the victims into signing military service contracts. Immediately after receiving the first state payments, gang members confiscated the money from them.
To maintain full control over financial flows and compensation, group members used several illegal methods. They issued powers of attorney to their associates, opened additional bank accounts for victims, and registered sham marriages with relatives or other gang members.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, seven suspects face twelve counts each of kidnapping and extortion. Another participant is charged with three counts of robbery. The investigation is ongoing as law enforcement agencies uncover all details of the organized crime group's activities.
