Vivix W1 Video Generator: $0.003 per Second Price and Interactivity
Chinese startup Vivix has unveiled the W1 video generation model at a cost of $0.003 per second. The product is aimed at mass iterations rather than maximum quality.
Content Creation Economics
The model is based on an iteration volume approach. The cost is $0.03 for a 10-second clip or $3.0 for 100 variations.
The solution is 77 times cheaper than its competitor Seedance 2.5. The average generation time for an 8-second clip is 8.4 seconds, excluding queue wait.
Technical Specifications and Capabilities
W1 is a closed video model with approximately 30 billion active parameters. The origin of the weights is linked to Alibaba, though this has not been fully disclosed.
Text-to-Video and Image-to-Video modes are supported. Audio references and control over the first and last frames are available.
Standard generation duration ranges from 5 to 15 seconds. Three speed modes with varying costs are provided.
Interactive Generation
The architecture supports continuous generation in streaming mode. Users can change what happens via voice, text, or actions during playback.
This feature is only available in closed beta. The model has successfully passed tests for context and action understanding.
