Cost of Russia-US Submarine Tunnel to Reach 16.7 Trillion Rubles
Analysts have calculated the cost of a submarine tunnel project between Russia and the United States. The infrastructure implementation will require the creation of a new railway network.
Logistics Challenges
For the project to function fully, both countries will need to build a new railway network. There are no railways on Chukotka at all, and Alaska's existing network does not provide access to the Bering Strait.
Financial and Time Costs
The submarine tunnel between Russia and the US will cost 16.7 trillion rubles ($205 billion). Under a realistic scenario, it will only be completed by 2041.
