Tether Paid Millions to Trump Advisor's Company
Tether paid $6.3 million to Nxum, a company co-owned by Bo Hines. These funds were transferred amid lobbying efforts for favorable regulatory legislation.
Bo Hines participated in drafting the GENIUS Act and pushed to extend its compliance transition period from 18 to 36 months. After the bill was signed into law, he left the White House and subsequently took over the US division of Tether.
Nxum representatives deny any conflict of interest. They claim that Hines was unaware of his company's collaboration with the USDT issuer during his public service.
