Sweater with built-in screen: new breakthrough in smart clothing

Researchers at the National University of Singapore have created an innovative sweater with an integrated screen woven into the fabric. The sleeve contains 54 electronic threads, each holding thousands of microscopic LEDs.

The device is a full-color touchscreen with a resolution of 96×54 pixels and a refresh rate of 30 frames per second. The miniature display can run a calculator, play videos, control apps, and show body temperature.

The electronics are embedded directly within the fibers rather than glued onto the fabric surface. This preserves the garment's flexibility and breathability, allowing it to withstand up to 50 machine washes without losing functionality.
