SpaceXAI to be Renamed SpaceXSI Due to Trump's Executive Order
Elon Musk announced the renaming of SpaceXAI to SpaceXSI. The decision was made after Donald Trump signed an executive order replacing the term "artificial intelligence" with "superintelligence" in official U.S. documents.
The rebranding is linked to the September 29 directive, which requires federal agencies to use the term "superintelligence." Musk supported the initiative, noting that the SI label now applies to all projects under the federal definition of AI.
The initiative is voluntary: the law does not require private companies to change their names. An exact date for the rebranding has not yet been announced, and the spacexsi.com domain remained available for sale at the time of publication.
Musk has experience changing brands: Twitter was renamed X nine months after its purchase. OpenAI has not yet commented on a potential name change to OpenSI.
