Scammers Stole 30 Million Rubles from Safe in Krasnoyarsk
In Krasnoyarsk, a group of scammers stole valuables worth about 30 million rubles from a family safe, exploiting the trust of a minor schoolboy.
The attackers began their assault with a phone call to the 17-year-old teenager. They posed as staff members of a local college and asked him to provide the code for accessing the electronic journal.
After obtaining the code, the fraudsters changed tactics: they began threatening the teenager and convincing him of the need to declare family savings. To do this, the scammers offered to "scan" the safe using an X-ray device.
The schoolboy believed the deceivers and left them the keys to the storage unit before leaving the house. The criminals used an angle grinder to break into the safe and took out cash and jewelry.
