Samsung Galaxy Watches Cause Wrist Burns
Owners of Samsung smartwatches are reporting wrist burns. Complaints about blisters under the device's rear sensors are appearing on forums and social media.
One Reddit user reported that after charging a Galaxy Watch 5 Pro overnight on their wrist, they were left with a blister burn, and the watch was completely drained.
Problems most often occur among owners of the following models:
- Galaxy Watch 5 Pro
- Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch 8
- Galaxy Watch Ultra and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 versions
Users suspect battery overheating or BioActive sensor LEDs. The company usually attributes such skin reactions to overly tight straps or poor hygiene.
However, fluid-filled blisters look more like thermal burns than irritation. Samsung has not yet admitted to a widespread defect.
Owners are advised to tighten straps properly, clean the device regularly, and undergo diagnostics at service centers.
The issue is relevant for other manufacturers as well: in October, Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 owners also complained of burning sensations under the sensor.
Smart glasses have already been recalled due to similar risks of temple burns, indicating a general trend of wearable electronics overheating.
