Public Catering Loan Delinquency Hits Record 24.3 Billion Rubles

Overdue debt on loans in the public catering sector has reached a historic high of 24.3 billion rubles. According to Izvestia, this figure is up 27% compared to the same period last year.

The share of non-performing loans in the industry's total loan portfolio has exceeded 13%, meaning that every eighth ruble is not being repaid on time.

Rise in business closures in public catering

In the first nine months of 2026, 28,000 individual entrepreneurs and companies ceased operations in the public catering sector. This is 15% more than in the same period of the previous year.
