Novice Drivers in Russia Face Vehicle Power Restrictions
Russia is considering a bill that would ban novice drivers from operating vehicles with more than 150 horsepower. The initiative aims to reduce accident rates involving inexperienced road users.
The proposal was introduced by the president of the National Automobile Association. Statistics show that one-third of accidents are caused by novices who underestimate the risks of fast driving.
The new law proposes fines ranging from 5,000 to 15,000 rubles for violations by drivers with less than three years of experience. Monitoring will be conducted through social media surveillance to identify speed enthusiasts and show-offs.
