Microsoft introduces the new Magnetic Connect port

Microsoft has introduced an innovative method for charging laptops, combining the best features of traditional USB-C and Apple's proprietary MagSafe magnetic connector. As part of the development of the new Surface Laptop Ultra device, engineers have created a unique Magnetic Connect interface.

The new port is a standard USB-C connector supplemented with a special magnetic cable locking system. This design ensures a secure connection during normal use but allows the cable to detach easily in case of sudden wire tension, protecting the device from damage.

In addition to power delivery, the interface maintains full compatibility with all standard USB-C capabilities. Users can connect external data storage devices, monitors, and other peripherals to the port without needing additional adapters or converters.
