Mastercard Launches Platform for Global Stablecoin Payments
Mastercard has launched the Global Money Platform, a new solution designed for global stablecoin payments. The platform combines fiat currencies and digital assets, enabling companies to store, convert funds, and transfer money to bank accounts.
The service's technological foundation is based on BVNK solutions, which Mastercard acquired in August this year for $1.8 billion USD.
The platform allows users to issue cards for paying for purchases with stablecoins. Currently, card issuance is available in more than 130 countries worldwide.
Project Scaling
- Current coverage: card issuance in over 130 countries.
- Plans for 2027: expanding payout capabilities to more than 200 countries and territories.
