Backdoor in Ledger Wallets from Official Reseller

Ledger has confirmed the presence of an unauthorized hardware implant in devices sold by official reseller CryptoBilis.

The incident affected users from Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. Losses from thefts may exceed $86 million.

On-chain researchers discovered wallets linked to fraudulent activities. Analyst Specter estimates losses in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Tron.

The reseller has suspended sales pending investigation completion. The company insists on the security of its main infrastructure.

Users are advised not to set up devices purchased from CryptoBilis or transfer funds to a new wallet with a new seed phrase.
