FTS checks Russians' social media to find unpaid freelancers

The Federal Tax Service (FTS) has intensified control over self-employed individuals and freelancers by using data from social media. In the Tyumen region, inspections of home-based specialists, including confectioners and electricians, have already begun.

Tax authorities are identifying citizens who do not pay taxes but actively use social networks to sell their services. This activity becomes the main source of information for fiscal services when searching for violators.

Special attention is paid to those working in a freelance or home business format. The FTS analyzes posts and advertisements to identify illegal entrepreneurial activities and hold offenders accountable.
