Customizing the Cursor in Obsidian with the Cursor-Smith Plugin
Cursor-Smith is an Obsidian plugin that allows users to customize the appearance and behavior of the text cursor.
Key Features
- Various styles: lines, rectangles, underlines
- Visual effects: smooth movement, pixel trails, flickering
- Profile management: save, edit, and share settings
Special attention is given to Vim mode users. The plugin provides separate cursor settings for each working mode: Normal, Insert, Visual, Replace, and Command.
Accessibility and Compatibility
Cursor-Smith respects system motion reduction settings. When enabled, animations are automatically disabled, ensuring comfortable use for all users regardless of their accessibility preferences.
The plugin is written in JavaScript and is available at https://github.com/Sadsnake1/cursor-smith.
