Kling 4.0: New Video Generation Capabilities
Chinese company Kling has released an updated version of its video generator — the Kling 4.0 model. The developers have provided a detailed description of the key improvements in the new architecture compared to the previous version.
Increased Video Duration
The main innovation concerns the duration of generated content. The system can now create videos up to 30 seconds long without needing to stitch fragments together, maintaining narrative coherence.
Enhanced Control Tools
- Support for up to 10 keyframes to set anchor points across the entire timeline, not just at the beginning and end.
- Ability to upload up to 15 references simultaneously: images, videos, characters, and voice samples.
- Stereo sound support and improved lip-sync accuracy.
Image quality specifications have also been updated. 10-bit HDR is available at 1080p and 4K resolutions, along with a new ultra-wide 21:9 format. The maximum prompt length has been increased to 8000 tokens.
Creative Recreation Mode
A dedicated mode allows users to take an existing video and copy its pacing, editing style, and delivery, replacing characters or products with new ones. Generated content can be edited via text commands: changing facial expressions, movements, backgrounds, weather, camera angles, and object materials.
New Languages and Bug Fixes
- Added support for Portuguese, German, French, and Hindi.
- Fixed issues with distortion of text and logos during camera movement.
