Chicken Prices Rise Again in Russia

Chicken meat prices in Russia continue to rise. Over the past year, broiler costs have increased by 37%, while fillet prices have jumped by 42%. Even a sharp increase in imports from China has failed to halt the price hike of the most affordable type of meat.

Wholesale prices have reached significant levels. A kilogram of wholesale broilers costs around 250 rubles, and fillet is priced at 458 rubles.

Domestic production is simultaneously declining. In the first nine months, poultry meat output fell by 5.7%.
