Mark Carpelès Created a Database on Compromised Ledger Wallets
Mark Carpelès, former head of Mt. Gox, has launched a public database on compromised Ledger hardware wallets. The newly created site catalogs incidents involving spy implants found in these devices.
Incident Statistics
The database currently records 11 confirmed cases of implant installation and 2 instances of counterfeit devices. These figures are based solely on verified information from public sources, including photos and reports.
The total number of victims is not reflected, as the database only collects verified cases. Information includes device models, seller names, countries of origin, publication dates, and visual evidence.
Channels of Distribution
Sellers of compromised wallets include major retailers such as MediaMarkt, Challenger, Metapod, Amazon Japan, Yahoo! Japan, and Lazada. A case was also recorded where a device with an implant was purchased in Russia.
The database is dynamic and continues to grow. Users can submit new cases via a special form on the project's official website for subsequent verification and inclusion in the registry.
