"Bochkiari" Ask Putin to Hand Over "Multon"
Altai-based beer producer "Bochkiari" has asked President Vladimir Putin to transfer control of the company "Multon" to them. Multon, Coca-Cola's distributor in Russia and one of the country's largest beverage producers, holds a portfolio of brands including "Dobry" and Rich. The business could be valued at up to 245 billion rubles.
Until 2022, the company was responsible for bottling Coca-Cola products within the Russian Federation. Currently, "Multon" remains a key player in the market, although its strategy has provoked reactions from competitors.
"Bochkiari's" position is based on the argument that Multon's decision to halt investments in Russia negatively affects the overall economic situation in the country. Representatives of the Altai producer believe this also leads to reduced tax revenues for the budget.
