Agreement with CIS Countries on Searching for Russians' Assets
Vladimir Putin has signed a law ratifying an agreement with CIS states, which will allow bailiffs to request data on citizens' employment, accounts, and income abroad.
The document was signed by Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Belarus, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan.
Each country has introduced its own restrictions into the information exchange mechanism. Belarus is committed to reporting only the fact of account existence, without disclosing amounts or bank names.
Uzbekistan refused to respond to requests based on decisions by non-judicial bodies and notaries. Kazakhstan limited the transfer of banking information in accordance with its domestic laws.
