Anthropic provides free access to Claude Team for startups

Anthropic has expanded its Claude for Startups program, offering young startups a year of free access to the Claude Team service. As part of this initiative, financial grants are also provided for using the API interface.

Program participants receive the following benefits:

• 12-month access to Claude Team with the ability to add up to five premium users
• $1,000 grant for using the Claude API
• Partnership offers worth up to $45,000
• Access to Anthropic engineer consultations, hackathons, and exclusive events

To participate, companies must be less than five years old or have received investment in the last two years. The program is available for both bootstrapped projects and companies at pre-seed and venture funding stages.

A key requirement is having a corporate email address on the company domain and an account in the Claude Console. Most applications are reviewed and approved within minutes.

Special conditions for venture-backed startups:

• Opportunity to obtain additional API credits through partnership funds up to $100,000
• Credits are valid only for six months after being issued
• Funds can be used exclusively via Anthropic's own API, without access to AWS Bedrock or Google Vertex

Anthropic justifies this policy by noting that the benefits of artificial intelligence will reach most people through products built on their models. Strategically, this allows integrating startups into the Anthropic ecosystem from day one, avoiding competition for them with other providers such as OpenAI.
