The Japanese corporation Toyota has taken the leading position in the ranking of automakers by the number of published patents. Statistics for the period from the beginning of 2026 demonstrate the company's high innovative activity.

The second place in the list was taken by the BMW group, trailing the leader by only 39 applications. The third spot is occupied by Mercedes-Benz with a figure of 2050 patents. They are followed by Hyundai (1983) and Stellantis (1502).
