Solana Opens Office in Shanghai Amid Event Shutdown

Solana has opened an office in Shanghai despite China's ongoing ban on crypto businesses. The project secured one of the tallest buildings globally with panoramic views and installed large-scale advertising on the Citigroup Tower.

The launch was accompanied by a yacht event featuring network co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko. Binance founder Changpeng Zhao praised the scale of the campaign, noting that BNB Chain has yet to achieve similar presence in the region.

Simultaneously, Solana launched the Accelerate China program—a series of events across four Chinese cities focused on development, artificial intelligence, and blockchain technologies.

However, the first event in Shanghai was suddenly halted. Witnesses reported the arrival of police forces; the official reason for the stoppage remains undisclosed.
