SimSlim: Optimizing iOS Simulator Memory

iOS app developers have access to SimSlim, a free utility that optimizes the iPhone simulator's performance. The tool significantly reduces RAM usage, making the development process more efficient on machines with limited resources.

How optimization works

The program disables unnecessary background processes in the simulator, reducing RAM usage by four times. Instead of the standard four gigabytes, one instance of the simulator now occupies only 900 megabytes.

Practical test results

During tests on a Mac with 16 GB of memory, it was possible to run 12 virtual iPhone devices simultaneously. This solution is particularly useful for those using vibe coding and needing quick code verification.

Where to download the tool

The free source code for the utility is available publicly on GitHub. Developers can download the project from https://github.com/MobAI-App/simslim to install and configure it on their workstation.
