Phishing of Ledger Owners Under the Guise of Firmware Updates
Attackers are exploiting the recent hardware wallet Ledger incident to launch a phishing campaign targeting device owners. Scammers lure users to fake websites, offering a supposedly necessary firmware update.
The counterfeit pages look convincing: device authenticity verification, wallet model selection, and an "Update Now" button.
Key signs of fraud
- Sites offer updates via external links
- Requests to enter seed phrases on third-party resources
- Imitation of the official device verification interface
Cybersecurity experts warn: never click links for firmware updates or enter your seed phrase on websites. Any requests for confidential data from unauthorized sources are signs of a scam.
