Scammer Lost $4.8M After Ledger Hack

The scammer who fell victim to the Ledger hack lost more than 60 BTC, equivalent to approximately $4.8 million. The incident is one of the largest among victims of the recent data breach.

Fraud Scheme

  • Victims were offered payment for boosting sales and reviews.
  • They were then asked to top up a "negative balance" with their own funds to receive the payout.

Fund Transfer Chain

On September 22, the attacker distributed the stolen Bitcoin across three Ledger addresses. On October 10, unknown actors drained all wallets, transferring assets to a single address now flagged as linked to stolen funds.
