Scammer Lost 60 BTC in Ledger Hack
One of the biggest victims of a Ledger wallet hack turned out to be a scammer. The user lost over 60 BTC, worth around $4.8 million.
The funds were obtained using a fraudulent "task" scheme.
Users were paid for fake sales and reviews, after which they were shown a "negative balance."
To receive the promised payout, victims had to deposit their own money.
Timeline of events:
- On September 22, the scammer transferred all funds to three Ledger addresses.
- On October 9, each of the three addresses was emptied in a single transfer to a common wallet, now flagged as linked to stolen funds.
