Sberbank Released a Unique Coin for Its 185th Anniversary

Sberbank issued the commemorative coin "Ray of Time" to celebrate its 185th anniversary. The jubilee release combines historical symbols with modern minting technologies.

The obverse design reflects the history of the first savings bank in 1841 through the image of a pelican. The reverse is dedicated to the present day, showcasing the bank's headquarters.

The coin is made using Ultra High Relief technology, giving the pelican image the volume of a sculpture. A special pattern of thin lines changes appearance when the item is rotated.
