Russian Pensioners Spend Winter in Vietnam

Russian grandmothers spend winter in Vietnam

A unique community of Russian pensioners has formed in Vietnam, with many relocating to Nha Trang for the winter. The main source of income is apartments left behind in Russian cities such as Irkutsk, Novosibirsk, and Tyumen.

Rental income allows women over 55 to live comfortably abroad using funds from property rentals. This type of holiday has become popular due to the affordability of local food prices and services.

The cost of basic groceries remains low even by local standards. Below are current prices for popular items:

  • Lunch at a cafe — around 226 rubles
  • One kilogram of bananas — approximately 69 rubles
  • One kilogram of shrimp — about 500 rubles

Despite the popularity of the destination, locals face issues with mold in some premises. Nevertheless, the flow of tourists from Russia continues to grow.
