Russia May Block Access to ChatGPT and Claude After IPO

Access to ChatGPT and Claude services may be fully blocked in Russia, even if users attempt to bypass restrictions via VPN. This decision is linked to the plans of Anthropic and OpenAI to go public on stock exchanges.

Access Regulation

Companies have already banned the use of their neural networks from Russia, China, and a number of other countries. However, previously, control over compliance with these restrictions was not always strict.

Link to IPO

  • The ban may become stricter after the listing of Anthropic and OpenAI shares.

According to TASS, new control measures may be implemented to comply with regulator requirements in preparation for the public offering.
